Species in Star Wars

Star Wars has thousands of species. I clearly do not have enough space or time to talk about all of them. In this post I will only be talking about five of them. These are: the Toydarian, the Gungan, the Ewok, the Mon Calamari, and the Wookiee.

The Toydarians are considered corrupt and selfish beings. Toydarians are resistant to Force tricks and only crave money. They are from the planet Toydaria. They have a tendency to be merchants. One of said merchants is Watto, who lives on the planet Tatooine. Toydarians have humanoid shape, but their limbs are short in comparison to their bodies. They have weak legs, and prefer to hover around on their short wings. Instead of a nose, they have short, elephant like trunks.

Gungans are water-dwelling creatures who live in large colonies underwater. They can breathe both air and water, but they prefer air environments. Gungans live in the oceans of Naboo, and rarely leave their home planet, but some have been known to leave for journeys and adventures. One of these is Jar Jar Binks. Binks travels around with Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padme Amadala on their countless adventures.

Ewoks are short, furry humanoid creatures that have facial features resembling a bear. Ewoks reside in tribes on the planet Endor. Although Ewoks only have primitive technology, they are adequate fighters, and helped the Rebellion fight off the Galactic Empire during the Battle of Endor. The Ewoks strangely seemed to revere the translator droid C-3P0.

The Mon Calamari are an aquatic species, whose home planet is the planet Dac. Mon Calamari are very advanced. They have an unmistakable odor which smells of fish. They are good ship builders, and when protecting something that they believe in, they will defend it until they die.

Wookiees are tall humanoid creatures that somewhat resemble a cross in between a bear and a human. Wookies are covered in brown fur that is absolutely unmistakeable. On the Wookiees home planet, Kashyyyk, Wookiees live in a tribal manner, living high up in the treetops in tree houses. One of the few exceptions to this is the famous Wookiee Chewbacca. When provoked or threatened, Wookiees are extremely dangerous and very good at combat, but normally are extremely gentle. Wookiees fought for the Great Republic during the Clone Wars.

Tell me your favorite in the comments! Thanks, Aidan.
